Cluj
The town is situated in the Northern - Western part of Romania, is a university center with a wealth of art and history monuments.
The Roman Town of Napoca, built on an old Dacian settlement, was designated city by Emperor Hadrian in the year of 124 and “colony” by Marcus Aurelius. In 1173, it is known as “Castrum Clubs”.
We can admire here some monuments like:
-The Taylors Fort;
- Saint Michael Roman Catholic Church (built in Gothic style),
- The University;
- The Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania, situated in the Reduta Building, Empire style, 18th century and the open air section in the Horia Forest, with country farms and peasants technical devices;
- History Museum;
- Art Museum – in the Bamfly Palace-Baroque style (1744-1788);
- The statuary group called “Şcoala Ardeleană”, representing some very important personalities of the Romanian culture: Samuil Micu, Gheorghe Şincai, Petru Maior and Ioan Budai-Deleanu;
