Moldavia

Moldavia is the historic province located in the East of Romania. The oldest and the most impressive buildings of this area are churches and monasteries. Very famous are Agapia, Văratec, Sihăstria, Secu and Bistriţa. The Agapia Monastery is one of the biggest nun monasteries of the Orthodox world and here one can admire Grigorescu’s first paintings, as a proof of his native and genial talent.

A very well known city is Iasi.
