Tulcea
Tulcea, a harbor of the on the Danube since Antiquity, and mentioned by Herodotus, under the name of Castrum Aegyssus, is “main gate” of the Delta. Almost as old as Rome, Tulcea was also built on seven hills.
This is the departure point for trips to the entire Delta. There are centers where you can rent motor boats, kayaks and canoes.
In Tulcea, you can visit The History Museum of the Danube Delta, the Ethnographic Museum, the Azzie Mosque and The Orthodox Cathedral. |
