Prahova Valley
Starting from Predeal, the River Prahova displays on both its banks wonderful tourist resorts, such as Azuga, Buşteni, Sinaia and Breaza. The impressive eastern steep ridges of Bucegi Mountains, with a high ranging from 2505 m – at Omu Peak – to 2030 m – at “Vârful cu Dor” is towering above the right bank of the river. Here you can meet stupendous natural monuments, such as Sphinx or Babele, a various alpine flora and fauna, comprising the edelweiss, the mountain wild rose, the bears, the chamois and so on.
The clime in the Prahova Valley is temperate continental, the average annual temperature varying from –2C degrees to 10 C degrees. |
