Romania represents a perfect combination of a variety of relief forms, customs and believes. Together with the Romanians, here are Hungarians, Saxons and Gypsies, with their own distinct traditions, but still living as a whole, like a colorful and magic family. We propose you to discover, during the 10 days, the most famous of the Romanian provinces- Moldavia, Transylvania and Walachia.
DAY 1 – flying to Bucharest; on the airport, meeting the local guide; then going to Sinaia, for the first night in Romania.
DAY 2 – in the city of Sinaia, situated in the Carpathians, at 840m height, the objective being The Monastery of Sinaia – a very old monk monastery- and The Peleş Castle – the summer residence of the first Romanian royal family – the Hohenzollerns; in the afternoon, we will go to Bran at the famous Dracula’s Castle, and then go back to Sinaia, for the second night.
DAY 3 – towards Braşov, a very old German city, where we will make the tour of the city and visit The black Church, with one of the biggest organs in Europe and a special collection of Anatholian carpets.
After Braşov, we will follow a very special route because of its landscape, the Bicaz Gorge, for a little walk and getting souvenirs; then, towards Piatra Neamţ, for the third night.
DAY 4 - going to Suceava where we will stay overnight; on the way there, we will stop to the Monastery of Agapia – with about 500 nuns, a special carpets studio and an icon section – and to the Museum of Nicolae Popa – a folk artist who is very famous for his masks.
DAY 5 – towards Câmpulung Moldovenesc, to visit the Wooden Museum and then towards the monasteries of Voroneţ and Moldoviţa, painted also on outside and considered UNESCO monuments.
DAY 6 – towards Sighişoara, for visiting the oldest German medieval fortress in Europe; here, we will see the house where Dracula was born, and then will follow the city of Sibiu, for staying overnight.
DAY 7 – in the morning, a short waking in Sibiu and a visit to the Museum of Brukental; in the afternoon, we will go to the village of Sibiel, known for hosting the largest museum of glass icons in Romania; here, we will have a traditional rustic meal in a peasant’s house. After this, we return to Sibiu.
DAY 8 – towards Curtea de Argeş for visiting the monastery where Romanian royal families are buried. Also, we will see a spectacular artificial lake, called Vidraru. Then, we return to Bucharest for the last two months.
DAY 9 – some free time in Bucharest and seeing you back to the airport. |
