Before The Second World War, Bucharest was known as “The Little Paris” or “The Paris of the East”. The first town in the world that used kerosene for the public lighting in 1857, the capital of Romania is a fascinating city, where unfortunately almost all the old buildings were destroyed during the Communist Dictatorship; after its fall, many more were built also. Some touristic objectives, like The Romanian Athenaeum, The Triumph Arch or The Cantacuzino Palace, they all remind us of the glory they lost in Ceauşescu’s Regime. After 1989, we can see an intense restoration and renovation process.

DAY 1 – arrival on Henri Coandă Airport, transfer to the hotel. After a short contact to the center of the Capital, dinner and accommodation at one of the hotels from Bucharest.

DAY 2 – a sightseeing of Bucharest; stopover in the most important places: The Revolution Square, The Patriarchy, and The Triumph Arch. We will visit The Village Museum and The Palace of the Parliament. After this, shopping time! Then, dinner and accommodation at the hotel, and, in the evening, an opera spectacle or a concert at the Romanian Athenaeum.

DAY 3 – going to Braşov, to visit the old center of the town with the Counsel Square, Saint Nicolas Church and The Black Church – the best known Evangelic church in Romania; here, you can admire one of the biggest organs in Romania, but also an impressive collection of Oriental carpets. After two free hours, we will go towards Bran. There, we will visit The Bran Castle, a name that is connected to the legend of Dracula, but also an old military fortress between Transylvania and Walachia. Dinner and accommodation in Sinaia.

DAY 4 – we will visit The Monastery of Sinaia, an old Orthodox foundation of Mihail Cantacuzino, before going to The Peleş Castle. Situated in a picturesque landscape, the castle was the summer residence of the Romanian king Carol I of Hohenzollern, and it is unique in Romania. From here, we will return to Bucharest, where we have accommodation in the same hotel as in the beginning of our program. Dinner in a traditional Romanian restaurant.

DAY 5 – free time in Bucharest; we can visit The National Art Museum, before leaving for the airport.
